Search under way after naked woman disappears into Prachin Buri forest

On August 27 in Prachin Buri province, a search operation was launched after a woman in her thirties ran naked into the forest and vanished from view. Subdistrict headman Samart reported to the Ruam Katanyu Rescue Foundation around 10 am that the individual has a psychiatric condition and had recently stopped taking medication before leaving her home in Prachantakham district at approximately 10 am.

More than 100 personnel joined the operation, including rescue workers, civil defence volunteers, and teams from various organizations supported by two thermal-imaging drones. Although searchers spotted the woman running out of woodland near her home at around 11:30 am before she disappeared into a forest covering over 100 rai, they were unable to locate her despite searching on foot throughout the day and night.

At around 9:50 pm, officials announced that search teams remained active but suspended operations for the night at 10:30 pm due to safety concerns regarding noise frightening the woman. District Chief Phairat Inpanya stated they planned to resume the search on August 28 while her family remains concerned about her whereabouts.

Do you have any thoughts on how such searches should proceed?
