A 40-year-old man from Chaiyaphum reported to the Pattaya City Police Station early Friday morning, claiming he was assaulted with a wooden stick while questioning another individual near Pratumnak Hill. The victim stated that he saw a shirtless man emptying and counting money from a donation box at a restroom site; when confronted about his actions, the suspect allegedly admitted being a caretaker before striking him repeatedly after further interrogation.
Police officers have expressed skepticism regarding the incident report, noting inconsistencies in the timeline provided by the complainant between the time of the alleged assault and his arrival at the station. Furthermore, no property owner has come forward to confirm theft or provide additional details about the donation box contents, leading investigators to treat the account as unconfirmed rather than established fact.
Investigators are currently examining the scene during normal business hours to gather more evidence before determining if any charges will be filed against the individual involved in the altercation. The situation remains under active investigation while authorities review conflicting statements and physical injuries sustained by the 40-year-old man.
