Police seize 1 million meth pills and 514kg of crystal in nationwide sweep

Between September 4 and 11, Thai police conducted a nationwide operation called "Blocklist Hunt," arresting 16 individuals across multiple locations both within Thailand and abroad. The Central Investigation Bureau executed the sweep to target suspects already on a wanted list, resulting in the seizure of over one million methamphetamine pills and 514 kilograms of crystal meth. Additionally, authorities recovered four vehicles and three firearms during this campaign.

Among those arrested were five high-level suspects described as significant targets by law enforcement. Two individuals tracked from Myanmar carried bounties worth 400,000 baht each and were linked to networks moving hundreds of kilograms of crystal meth. Another suspect was connected to a pill network in Bueng Kan province handling over one million tablets, while a fifth was associated with more than 214 kilograms of crystal meth. The remaining eleven arrests included district-level distributors from various online and local trafficking rings.

Police officials stated that the operation successfully severed connections between street sellers and larger criminal networks. Authorities valued all seized goods and assets at more than 120 million baht, marking a significant disruption to drug distribution chains in Thailand. Do you have any thoughts on how effective such nationwide manhunts are compared to targeted local operations?
